About The Muddy Homestead and Sheep Farm
The Muddy Homestead and Sheep Farm is located in South Louisiana and has become a way of life that has grown from 2 acres in which had a variety of animals including goats, sheep, pot belly pig, chickens, llamas, calves and horses. Each different type of animal came with a different challenge and learning experience. Over the last almost 20 years the original animals have all passed on but left lots of knowledge that is used daily to make decisions at the current farm.

Currently the farm consist of hair sheep that are breed yearly and working towards a better genetics for increased worm resistance, chickens which are producing farm eggs and chicks that are for sale, and the newest project is stating vegetable seeds and selling the plants to help people begin gardening or continue gardening and produce a better food source.

You will quickly learn that we don't do things the way others do and we don't believe that each homestead or farm should or will look the same. This is a way to share the things that work for us and for you to take the ideas that work for you and make your homestead better. There is no right or wrong way to do most things as long as the animals are well taken care of, a good product is produced and you enjoy the process.
